and nothing else matters

Last night was an important night for me. A wish came true. I finally saw Metallica in concert and it was great. In a historical show Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax performed on the same stage on the second day of Sonisphere festival in Bucharest, Romania. Those who's heart beat in the rock mood know what I mean. Rock on, baby! I was there for 9 full hours during which I witnessed the amazing concert of "the big four", the ones who wrote the history of trash metal. I must confess I've been there mostly for Metallica and Megadeth, but Anthrax made a very good impression on me. Metallica made a 2 and half hours concert the public calling them back on the stage 3 times. The band was impressed by the fans who sang out loud every line of every song along with them (among which I was and I still need some time to recover my voice, but it was so fun). Kirk Hammett played on a customized guitar that had the inscription Dracula and James Hetfield wore vampire fangs in the same Romanian spirit :).

The pyrotechnical show was amazing with fire and smoke on stage and fireworks when the band performed One (one of my favorites songs). The over 35 000 spectators could listen to Death magnetic singles like Cyanide and That was just your life, but also the old songs like Master of puppets, Sad but true, Enter sandman or Sanitarium, and of course Nothing else matters when I called my brother and let him listen on the phone this unique ballade. At the end, the band promised to come back soon to their Bucharest fans that they loved so much.

Disappointments? I would say that was Megadeth's performance (who's songs A tout le monde or Symphony for destruction are legend) because of the sound problems they had (Dave Mustaine's voice was covered by the instruments).

For the rest, it was great, another dream come true. Thank you Metallica for this impossibly to forget show.
