March the 8th or one woman wins in men's territory

Hello everyone and Happy Women's day! to all my lady readers. May this day be blessed with love and happiness.

We're women and we should be proud of that. Today even more. This morning, thanks to Pro7, I've seen the most important part of the Academy Awards ceremony. Kathryn Bigelow made us the honor of winning for the first time in movie history the Academy Award for the best director as a female director. It was like the cheery on top of a creamy cake. And the most important thing in my opinion was that she won this award for a movie that talks about a men's territory, about war, about army. She did understand the subsisdiaries of this type of existence (if you can call that way risking your life for bomb detonation), and with a low budget she managed to tell an incredible story. Congrats Kathryn! And above all the movie she directed - The Hurt Locker - won the award for the best motion picture in a very tight competition with another great movie - Avatar. If only could be possible giving two Oscars at the same category!

It was also impressive the way the best leading actor/actress has been introduced to public. In a quite inspired speech the actors that shared the screen with the nominees gratified each one of them. It was like it should be, because each and every one of them is a winner. The ones who got the statue were Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock. It seems that now I have a long list of new movies to watch. I just only have to negotiate my time to see them all, but I'm gonna do it somehow :)

Even though reality tends to strike back in its usual way, like when I got out this morning and saw a dead cat in the middle of the road and a woman (I won't call her a lady) that spited in the tram totally engrossing me. Those facts were like a cold shower making me suddenly forget Barbara Streisand, Keanu Reeves, Tim Robbins, Colin Firth and Sandra Bullock's speech (she managed somehow to mix tears with laughter thanking everyone and especially to her "lover, Meryl Streep .. that's such a good kisser" :) - it's typical for Sandra, and that's why I like her so much).

Despite everything that could ruin my joy, there was someone that smiled to me this morning making my day brighter and I've finally got my trainer diploma. And even though I've celebrated in advance women's day last Thursday at a karaoke night with friends, I'm gonna enjoy this day too. A beautiful day to you all!
