Sighisoara - medieval citadel in modern times

Last weekend I've been to Sighisoara or Schäßburg in german. It was a must on my TO DO list this year. And I must confess I loved this trip very much. People here are very nice and welcoming, the food is very good and the prices are quite OK. But the most important is the view, the old city center, the buildings, the towers and everything that reminds you the medieval times.

It is known by the passionate ones that this is the place were in the 15Th century was born Vlad Tepes also known as Dracula. As main touristic sights are the following:

The Clock Tower, the Prison and the Weapon Museum

the Covered staircase

the other 9 conserved towers all around the Sighisoara Citadel and his main enforced protection wall

the Gothic Church on the Hill

the German cemetery

You will certainly find some nice people to tell you a story about this old city. Main of this objectives mentioned above are part of UNESCO patrimony.

As for a good meal you will eat good at Jo's Pub in the city center where you'll find the best lichie with plums and goulash, at the Romanian Traditional Restaurant and last but not the least at Cafe Julius where you can eat the best possibly Tiramisu ever joined by a great cappuccino cup.
