Ringtones

Is almost mid fall now and that means Bucharest gets crowded. Is crowded on the streets, in the shops, at cinema, at the subway, in trams, in the park ... people are everywhere busy, in a perpetual hurry, rude, forgetting again how to smile. But there is one thing that strikes like a thunder to my ears: the ring tones.

Yesterday I've been silently observing the crowd at the subway. By the time I was out from work, tired and sleepy, I've noticed the the phones of those around me begun ringing, one after another. That wasn't a problem because I can here phones ringing every day at work, but the ring tones were the most disturbing ones. Babies giggling, laughing, strange boat noise or submersibles, the entire grandmother's farm singing at once, favourite song and all invariably let to ring a long time before answering, like anyone around was really interested in that tune. And they ring, and ring, and ring again. So that was enough for me. Until yesterday my ring tone was Jace Evert's song from TB, Bad things. But now I've decided that a phone is a phone and that the best ring tone for my own is a ... phone ring tone. I hope I'll stick to this idea of mine.
