"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman
That's a beautiful quote that I read this morning. It just was there when I needed it, right on the tip of my thoughts. I use quite often to listen what the world needs and much too often I do things for the world to be happy. But what I've discovered in the past years is that the world is much beautiful when I am also happy. Happy with myself, with what I am, with what I love to do.
Happy with a dotted shirt and a soft scarf if those clothes are comfortable, with a short hair, loving bikes, horses and bungee jumping, watching Asian movies, taking Japanese lessons, singing, listening to my favorite music, taking pictures, writing, running early in the morning in the park, allowing myself to be lazy from time to time, being an workaholic the rest of the time, loving kids, flowers and animals, loving the ones who hate me, being kind with my enemies, understating the ones that don't have time to understand me, sipping my dark coffee in a beautiful morning, loving mornings as the best moment of each day, giving another chance to others, giving another chance to myself. A simple complicated self that finally begun to love herself, to discover the beauty of being herself.
Thinking of a list of 10 things that makes me happy and post it soon.
What makes you happy my reader?
I have a (partial) answer to your question. I wrote o post about this. Would you take a look? It is here: http://ovidiu-badea.blogspot.com/2012/02/placeri-simple-ale-vietii.html :-)
ReplyDeleteI've read your post and loved it. Especially the "2. Să afli că mai este timp să dormi." :) I'm preparing my own list now. Multumesc Ovidiu!
