Balea lake

Last weekend I've been on the mountain side with my family. It's been the first time for me to travel in Fagaras mountains. The view was incredible and we had a snow fight up there at Balea lake. It's one season opportunity at Balea (2004 m) to stay in the middle of the lake: when it's frozen. We got there unfortunately one day later because the ice church had fallen on Friday evening due to high temperatures lately. At least the ice hotel was still standing. Fagaras mountains are very scary to me because they are so black and massive. There were brave young people who took their ski and snowboard and went on the highest peaks. But there were so many avalanche warnings that I haven't had the courage for such an adventure. At least I took some pictures. It was a very long day. I woke up at 4 a.m. and got back in Bucharest at 10.00 o'clock in the evening. But what I've seen and the places I've been to where beautiful. We left on the A1 Highway Bucharest-Pitesti, Ramnicu-Valcea, Sibiu, Cascade Valley, Balea Lake and got back by Ghimbav, Vulcan, Cristian, Fagaras, Rasnov, Azuga, Busteni, Sinaia, Ploiesti. That sums up 700 km in one day. Wow!
