Stars for movies

I've been planing this for a while ago. I want to start a series of comments about movies and music and I really want to involve you - my readers - into this action. So I kindly invite you to comment on this matter if that intereset you.

So, I've seen alot of movies lately, new and old, Oscar nominated or not.

Revolutionary Road - staring Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. A dramatic interesting film about how dreamers sometimes don't fit into this world, about a woman's chance to realise her dream by her husband due to the socio-cultural context in the 50s. And finaly you can see Kate Winslet patronising the scenes with a beautiful, powerful acting. On a scale from 1 to 10 I'll give it a 7.

Talking about drama. I haven't seen such a dramatic movie as The Duchess. This one is a constant drama: from its beginig till its end. So if you want to stare at the screen wondering "Whay?" watch The Duchess. - 5

I must say I'm quite amazed of not seeing among nominated movies Seven Pounds. Will Smith, known for his part in Men in Black, Hancock and I am legend is absolutely fabulous in Ben Thomas's role. Seven Names. Seven Strangers. One Secret. That's the movie tag. Such a complexity of feelings that overtake the viewers. Will Smith is amazing in dramatic parts as you could also seen in The Pursuit of Happyness (2006).

I've seen Seven pounds in Christmas'Eve and I must say that in a very strange way it connects to Christmas' spirit: giving and waiting nothing in exchange. I'll give it a 9.5.

For someone who wants to rememorate childhood The Incredible Hulk is a relaxing family movie. Names like Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt gives it fame and inspires curiosity. For the adventurer child in yourself you should try to see this one. - 7

Talking about Tim Roth, I've just remebered that I've finaly seen Francis Ford Copola's Youth without youth, where Roth plays the main character. I was a bit disapointed. The novel is far most interesting then the movie. Avatars, the continuous search of the genius intellecual man of the universal truth about our existence, of our roots, themes you will find no doubt in all Mircea Eliade's works. I'll give it a 5.5.

For Sc-Fi fans I totally recomand The Day the Earth Stood Still with Keanu Reeves. This remake is an incredible story of how human kind keeps forgetting to take care of its host - the Planet Earth and how this state of facts can turn against us. - 8.9

In other order of ideeas I've also (re)seen Leon, White Oleander (very good - 8.7), Frankie and Johnny, and also a comedy - My Best Friend's Girl (7).

I still have some movies on my list to see and I'll continue my description. I hope I'll manage to see all nominated movies until 22nd of February.
